More walks!

Been scouting out the Carlsbad beaches lately and I think I live in a pretty cool area. Mom's been taking me on more walks which is awesome.

I also am getting along better with kids, I even lick the little girl who lives next door. I guess she isn't so bad afterall. Before I just wanted to bark and snap at all kids. Mom says this is huge progress!

Am I singing or hating oldies?

When mom puts pandora radio on her phone I act very strange. Do you think I'm singing along because I love it or singing over it because I hate it?

What a week

It's been a while since I last wrote and it's been quite a week. First my mom dropped me off at my grandparents house which is super fun because they have 2 dogs that I play with (well one hates me but the other is like a mom to me). But then she didn't come back for 5 days! I picked her up at the airport and decided to give her licks but not sit in her lap on the way home. I wanted her to know I wasn't cool with her leaving me. To make my point really strong, I did everything I could once back home to be a pest. I pee'd and poo'd in the house, not once but a few times. I went through the trash, I ate ipod headphones, I broke a shoe Deanne loves to wear and I terrorized the house. I think she got the point and will think twice about going away for more than a day again.

Summer time and the living's easy

Been going on beach walks a lot and playing the waves this summer. Last night I went to the beach in a convertible! It was my first time in such a breezy car and so much fun! Weeeee!

it's a bird, it's a plane, it's SUPER DOG!

I like to lay like superman and look like I'm flying so mom put a cape on me (well really it was a bandana). Now I'm superdog! My job is to run around and be crazy, but I prefer to do that without hte cape.
Since it was so hot today I played in water from the hose outside. Summer is fun!

Relaxing after a busy weekend

The 4th of July was a neat holiday. I got to go to a huge event at a park in Pacific Beach and then a family bbq where I watched fireworks. No they're not scary like some dogs claim.
Today I got my stitches out from neutering and got a rabies shot. It hurt and I tried to bite the vet. I'm now labeled as a "biter and scratcher." Deanne is not pleased but what can I say I don't like painful things probing me. :)

I've Discovered...I'm a POMIMO!

I looked in the mirror and discovered I'm a Pomimo, that's an american eskimo pomeranian. Or an Eskipom. My mom looked it up on the internet I look like I might be a mix. My fur is simply not as full and fluffy as american eskimo's and my tail doesn't do the corkscrew. That also might explain my small size, I'm 10 pounds and 4 months old. However, when I grow up maybe I'll change my looks. I got to admit I like my unique fluffy face and masculine body. I'm still a lady killer, the girls go nuts for me, hehe. Guess I might be a "designer dog."

Happy and Hyper again

Thanks everyone for the well wishes after my surgery. After two days I stopped moping around and whimpering and got used to that silly plastic cone. Now I get to have the cone off while an adult is with me. 

With the cone off I have my hiding places back, like under the dining room chairs and even this cool spot I found under Deanne's bed that involves climbing. The world is my playground. I also like to lay like a bear rug. Here I am with my favorite toy squirrel behind me. I lay like this all the time. 

I'm not a happy camper :-(

Today I woke up excited, jumped on Deanne's head at 6:20am and surprisingly she got up 10 minutes later and next thing I knew we were in the car going for a ride! We got to the vet and everything was fine, but then I got super sleepy and when I woke up I had a big plastic thing around my head and soreness down there.

Now that I'm home, I'm moping on the couch. This cone thing makes it so I can't walk. I try to jump around like a deer and I'm totally uncoordinated. This sucks. Ok that's enough complaining from me. I guess lots of puppies go through this, I'll survive.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. I don't really remember my dad but I'm sure he was a great guy! I now have many human dad's so I guess that's ok. I had fun today playing at a Father's day BBQ. I myself won't ever be a dad, just found out I'm getting my manhood chopped off on Thursday. Eek!

Walks and Playtime

I went on a walk yesterday by the ocean and decided I wanted to be carried for about a mile of it. Deanne seemed to enjoy carrying me and working on her bicep muscles.
I also have taken field trips to Deanne's parent's house and love hanging out with the dogs and people there. Here I am with Deanne's mom Patti

Terrible Two's

I'm in the "terrible two's" I like to have my own way and sometimes bark because well I feel like barking.
But I'm still pretty stinking cute oh and no accidents in the house for days! I'm officially house broken, woo hoo!

I entered Costco!

I got to take a little field trip today to this place called Costco where they have dog food and tons of dog rawhide chew things. I went with Shannon (roommate) and my mom. People stopped to smile and pet me the whole time. My mom first bought me a chew bone that got all over the backseat of her car, so she returned them and brought me inside so I could hand pick which treat I wanted. I went with giant beef rawhides.

Here I am inside a cart hehe. But I was actually carried by Shannon throughout the store.

Play time and modeling!

Hi everyone. I have a little video to share with you of me doing what I love to do...play! It's about a minute long.



Today I went with my mom to a modeling shoot. I got to be in 
some of the pics but I only felt like looking into the camera for 
maybe a minute.


On another note, I'm totally getting the hang out housebreaking. I 
haven't had an accident in the house for days and get this, Deanne 
let's me sleep next to her on her bed! Life is good :)

Help Freedom Dogs get a $250,000 Grant!

My mom is a board member for the non profit Freedom Dogs (www.freedomdogs.org). They train specialty service dogs to give to military member who come back from war with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. These dogs are helping curb the suicide rate back at home. what a fun memorial day weekend!

Hope you had a good memorial day weekend. I had fun socializing with Deanne's friends, family and her parents dogs. In fact, I was the center of attention at the bbq I went to tonight. I just love attention. 

Here's a pic of me enjoying the grass, which I liked to eat too.

Deanne is working on housebreaking with me. I'm getting bell trained and every now and then I'll ring the bell by myself, sit and wait to be taken out. But I also still think it's ok sometimes to pee in the house. Deanne doesn't think that's as much fun as I do. Housebreaking may take me a while...how long does it take most three or four month old puppies? 

I'm good about not going to the bathroom in my bed or crate. I also go outside to go to the bathroom at least once an hour and get treats for it. There's some sort of connection I think I'm supposed to be making...I'll have to figure that one out. :-)

For now, it's nap time. licks and more licks.

Hi I'm Bear!

Hi, I'm Bear and this is my fur-st blog. Get it? I'm a 14 week old pup. One week ago I met my forever mom Deanne.



Deanne adopted me from a rescue out of LA that ended up being not the nicest I'm rescue I'm told. She was happy to pull me from them. I had 4 homes in my first 13 weeks of life. I came from a backyard breeder (that's why I'm so cute I guess), then was given to a college student who couldn't take care of me and then I was fostered for a week at a woman's house with New Homes 4 Animals. She didn't socialize me well and gave my new mom a hard time.
When I first met Deanne I was very scared. She seemed nice but I didn't trust humans. I barked, snapped at her and growled. Deanne gave me lots of treats and despite my big barks she scooped me in her arms and kept me in her lap. Within 3 hours I loved her and now follow her everywhere. But I didn't want anyone else to touch me. This is a 10 second video of me on the first day she had me showing how much I didn't want to trust humans.

I'm no longer like that. Deanne called her friends who are trainers at Freedom Dogs and they even helped with my behavior issues.  I'm starting to love all humans. I like her family, roommate and turns out I think rabbits are super fun to play with. Deanne's roommate's rabbit Bugsy and I love to play. I'll show you a video of that soon.
