Deanne is working on housebreaking with me. I'm getting bell trained and every now and then I'll ring the bell by myself, sit and wait to be taken out. But I also still think it's ok sometimes to pee in the house. Deanne doesn't think that's as much fun as I do. Housebreaking may take me a while...how long does it take most three or four month old puppies?
I'm good about not going to the bathroom in my bed or crate. I also go outside to go to the bathroom at least once an hour and get treats for it. There's some sort of connection I think I'm supposed to be making...I'll have to figure that one out. :-)
For now, it's nap time. licks and more licks.
Luv,
Bear
Hey Bear!! We're glad you had a great time on your first memorial day holiday. I bet it was really fun to have everyone making funny faces and talking funny to you!! That's what they did to me when I was a baby. Geez - they still do! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I feel your pain about house training. I didn't like getting house-trained AT ALL! It took me a really long time, but I think it was because I was scared and had lived in a bad place before. My sister Atka seems to be on a roll right now, and doing well with her training. She hasn't peed in the house in over 3 weeks! That's a huge accomplishment for her. She gets treats when she goes potty outside too. Don't worry - you'll get the hang of it. One day you'll wake up and never want to potty in the house again. Mom says it's just a switch that flips in our heads! :)
We're glad your blogging!!
Love,
Prinnie, Digby and Atka
Hi!!! I didn't realize I was getting comments until now. That's so cool you can remember what it was like to be housebroken and that Akta has the hang of it. I'm doing bell training and tonight found out a fun game where I ring the bell, lay down by the door and then ring it again and again even though I don't have to go to the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is not too thrilled with this little game. lol
